Let’s restore the South’s pride

He is looking for willing community members who want to give back to the community.

EVANGELIST Armando Capriello wants to revamp the dilapidated Union Bulldogs for the benefit of the community at corner 11th and Forest streets in La Rochelle.

He said he used to cut the grass, installed electricity and kept the place in a habitable state. However, in recent times the place has gone to the dogs. Squatters vandalised the place. “They cut the electric cables, stole fencing and the toilets are a total mess,” said Capriello who is from the Royal Priesthood Ministries International Church in Rewlatch.

He is looking for willing community members who want to give back to the community. “On my own I cannot handle this situation. As a church I’m trying to uplift the community again. At this place on weekends people come to do all sorts of unpleasant things and that is why I want to rebuild it to its former glory.

“I have a CAF C licence in coaching and my team, Southern Royals Football Club, can benefit if this place is up and running. Again it would not only benefit my team. We have a lot of junior teams in the south and they could utilise this space optimally. Any community member can come here and have functions here,” he said.

In a nutshell: Evangelist Capriello wants the community to participate in reviving this place. Any kind of donations or monetary donations are welcomed. He can be contacted on armandoc1@mweb.o.za or 082 664 6040.
