UQIC hosts free medical screening day
UQIC together with the Islamic Medical Association screened and provided meals and refreshments for more than 400 community members.
THE Uwais Qarni Islamic Centre (UQIC) at 157 Rifle Range Road, Robertsham hosted its annual free medical screening day on February 3.
The day was held in celebration of the birth of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The birth of the Beloved Prophet (p.b.u.h) is a day of happiness, love and mercy, for God Almighty has stated in the Glorious Quran that: “And we have not sent you (Oh Muhammad) but as a mercy unto the universe.”

To celebrate this universal message of love, mercy and happiness, UQIC has held its free medical screening day for the past six years. It is a day on which UQIC, together with the Islamic Medical Association, screen and also provide meals and refreshments for more than 400 members of the community. Individuals of all races, colour, gender and religion partake in this day with the objective of spreading love, harmony and good health (both physically and spiritually) among all of creation.
The UQIC is also in partnership with the Nur-Ul-Islam madrasa Robertsham (Winchester Ridge Primary School), which is currently in its 26th year of existence. Plans for the future include the building of the mosque, which is currently in progress, as well as classrooms, a hall and community centre where all especially the youth can gather in a positive environment.
The UQIC sends out a big thank you to all who partook in the event, including all health care professionals, volunteers and members of the public, for taking out of their time to serve humanity.
