A MAN was convicted to 10 years imprisonment for rape on March 27.
The management of Booysens SAPS would like to thank Sgt Pule Lazarus Masedi for the good conviction on a rape case that took place in August 2016 in the Robertsham area.
Masedi was given the case of rape to investigate. A suspect was arrested and relevant information was obtained. The case was taken to court and placed on the roll.
On March 27, the following conviction was given by the court: Ten years imprisonment in terms of Section 51(2) of Act 105 of 1997 and in terms of Section 103(1) of Act 60 of 2000, the accused shall remain unfit to possess a firearm.
The suspect is currently in jail.
