My Lillies of Hope’s purpose is to help people in the South

Every Monday the organisation gives away food hampers to impoverished women in Rosettenville at the MLOH offices.

MY Lillies of Hope (MLOH) from Rosettenville helps various communities with food hampers and support programmes. The organisation, founded by the late Edward Mohapi, was established in 2008 and registered in July 2012.

Every Monday the organisation gives away food hampers to impoverished women in Rosettenville at the MLOH offices. More than 50 women come to collect their hampers. When time permits, these women are also taught social skills.

SEWING: One of the rooms where young and old are taught how to sew.

MLOH also runs an outreach feeding scheme for communities in Lenasia South and Elandsfontein every Friday. The feeding scheme caters for children and elders. While busy with the feeding scheme they also make time to entertain the little ones with games.

“We also have temporary accommodation for destitute young women and is in the process of establishing a sewing skills programme,” said Motlai Mashiloane, the executive director of MLOH.

“We help 120 people a month with food hampers and our aim is to reach every underprivileged person in the South. MLOH’s purpose is to help people who are HIV positive, drug addicts, poor and unemployed. We work hand in hand with Woolworths from Glenvista, who generously provide towards our hampers as well as Shoprite from Rosettenville who worked closely with us in December 2017 sponsoring our closing ceremony for the sewing group,” said Motlai.

DANCING: Young people displayed their dancing and singing talents to the children and visitors.

He added they will be working with social development in the future and the National Lottery Commission is also coming to the party.
