Learn a new skill through The Believers Care Society (BCS)
No fees are required and only unemployed and unskilled youngsters are accepted.

ARE you a young person aged between 18 and 35 years, unemployed or unskilled? The Believers Care Society (BCS) are currently enrolling young people on a three months skills course in Computerised Bookkeeping.
This is a financial accounting course which is accredited by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), a quality assurance partner for the Quality Council For Trades & Occupations (QCTO).
This course is funded through the Department of Social Development for skills development and youth employability.
BCS’ youth development project aims to equip unemployed and unskilled youth with employable skill and provide the basic life skills, information and assistance that enables employment.
It is essential for any bookkeeper or an administrator to be able to keep the books of a business using computerised accounting software. This skills programme is designed to show you how to take manual bookkeeping processes and complete them using computer tools. The tools used are MS Office – MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint – and Pastel Accounting (Partner V11). The course outline includes basic PC concepts, working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, installation and registration, Pastel language, creating and setting up a company, creating and maintaining general ledger accounts, creating and maintaining supplier accounts, creating and maintaining customer accounts, creating and maintaining inventory items, taking on balances and journals, supplier processing, customer processing, cash book, petty cash, journal and month end and year end procedures.
Classes will start on June 12. Training takes place at the Youth Development Centre in Turffontein. Training will be for the duration of three months. Classes are from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 1pm, except on Wednesdays when it will be from 9am to 2pm.
No previous experience is required, however, accounting passion and knowledge will be of great advantage. To qualify one must be between 18 and 35 years, reside in Joburg South, have Grade 11 or matric, must be willing to study and to complete training duration. No fees are required and only unemployed and unskilled youngsters are accepted. Requirements include a copy of your ID, proof of residence, previous qualification and a short CV.
