Law enforcement in Moffat View precinct

High visibility through the entire precinct was done, with a convoy of SAPS, JMPD and CPF vehicles.

VARIOUS dangerous weapons were confiscated, illegal substances were found, liquor outlets and nightclubs were visited for licences and stop-and-searches were executed in Moffat View on July 20.

During this operation, Moffat View SAPS was led by Captain Erasmus Smal and Captain Jan Baloyi, the was JMPD led by Sgt Ivan Banjwa, and National Armed Response Security and the Moffat View CPF from Sectors One and Three were led by Moffat View CPF deputy chairperson Isaac Davis to patrol the entire Moffat View precinct. High visibility through the entire precinct was done, with a convoy of SAPS, JMPD and CPF vehicles.

The Moffat View CPF would like to inform the community that drinking in public is an offence. The by-laws of Johannesburg forbid the community to make fires, cook food or braai meat, in public areas, including pavements, unless there is a designated place for such. It is also unlawful to sell food or merchandise in public places that have not been allocated for hawkers.

IMPLEMENTING LAWS: Moffat View CPF members enforce by-laws for members of the community who make fires on the pavements.

Patroller co-ordinator and Sector Three PRO Paulo Monteiro said, “Thank you for your co-operation and please refrain from doing what is illegal. The CPF thank everyone involved in this operation, your effort is much appreciated.”
