Booysens SAPS made numerous arrests in September

BOOYSENS SAPS made a total of 207 arrests for the period from September 1 till September 30.

The perpetrators were apprehended for the following crimes: Abduction – four, armed robbery – seven, assault common – 28, assault grievous bodily harm – 19, common robbery – one, contravention of the liquor act – one, dealing in cycads – one, drinking in public – five, drug-related crime – 20, drunken driving – 39, failure to register business – one, fraud – one, house break-in and theft – six, house break-in and theft business – one.

Other arrests included intimidation – one, kidnapping – one, malicious injury to property- three, pointing of firearm – one, possession of firearm and ammunition – one, possession of firearm without licence – four, possession of hijacked motor vehicle – four, possession of suspected car break-in implements – one, possession of suspected stolen goods – one, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle – five, rape – four and reckless and negligence driving – three.

SAPS continued to arrest suspects for selling liquor without a licence – two, shoplifting – 23, theft – 15, theft of motor vehicle -one, theft out of motor vehicle – one, use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent – one and violation of protection order – one.
