Local actors feature in new Leon Schuster film

The hilarious new film opens at cinemas in November. The duo claimed that the film consists of lovable and admirable characters in the industry like Leon Schuster, Themba Ntuli and Kenneth Nkosi.

LOCAL actors Sabelo Ndumo (26) and Reggie Ndlovu (28) from Starburst Promotions share their experience with COURIER after the duo was featured in Leon Schuster’s hilarious new movie Frank and Fearless to be screened on November 23.

Ndumo, who plays the role of a waiter, currently lives in Mondeor and Ndlovu, who plays the role of a scavenger, lives in Naturena.

The duo says the movie consists of lovable and admirable characters in the industry by the likes of Leon Schuster, Themba Ntuli and Kenneth Nkosi.

Sabelo told COURIER that his friend told him about the role and at that time he was not shooting any film or directing, so he went to the auditions and the rest is history.

“Playing the character of being the scavenger made me express myself. What I mostly loved about it was that it was very comedic,” said Sabelo.

He went on to say, prior to the shooting of the movie, he was absent for about a year in the film industry. At first it was challenging for him to gel with the production team. Sabelo wants to become a writer or film director in the next couple of years because he believes South Africa is growing in the local film industry. He wants to contribute in that regard.

He has an honours degree in film, screening and acting. But, as a boy, he wanted to become a pilot but due to his unsuccessful academic results in maths and science, he opted to go for film.

He fell in love with acting while he was still in high school at Queens High, Bruma, Johannesburg. He is currently working on a feature film which he is directing.

SCAVENGER: Reggie Ndlovu sees this opportunity as a door opener for many opportunities.

Ndlovu has a degree in television drama and production and is currently a commentator for SABC sports. He says the role of being a scavenger made him realise that life is not as easy as he thought.

“It was not hard for me to gel with the character because I have a background of acting. It was easy for me to get into the character. Also, what helped was the fact that I have a theatre background.”

He has one child who is five years old. Ndlovu loves playing football in his spare time.

Ndlovu was also featured in one the most watched soapies in the country, Generation The Legacy.
