Turquoise court residents still demand better services

RESIDENTS from Turquoise Court in Bellavista are still complaining about service delivery.
A couple of months ago the COURIER ran a story headlining Bellavista as in serious need of service delivery. The residents demanded better services as the provision of sanitation and electricity were still a concern.
But, according to the residents, there hasn’t been any improvement or update from the ward councillor.
It was reported on the COURIER the residents want the mayor, Clr Herman Mashaba, to answer to their demands but this has not been heeded.
“All that residents demand now are renovations of the court even if Mashaba doesn’t come,” one resident said.
Rosemary Nhate, also a resident said: “We are still unhappy because our geysers are leaking and the Ward 55 councillor is ignoring us. The units are in mess. People shouldn’t be living in such conditions. All that we want is to be helped please.”
Residents say they have to use their money to have grass cut and sewage repairs made.
Ward Clr Rashieda Landis said: “The housing manager of the court is the one who needs to be implemented on this and he has to do follow-ups.”

“I need to visit the court and check out the place to verify if there are any emergencies that need to be attended to and I will also make sure whether there are other things that concern residents,” said Greg Macket, housing manager of Turquoise Court. The COURIER contacted the mayor’s office via email and telephone but we haven’t received any comment by the time of going to print.
