Introducing ICT/Digitalised training opportunities

No fees are required, only unemployed and unskilled youth are accepted.

THE phrase Fourth Industrial Revolution or 4th IR was first used by Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairperson of the World Economic Forum. It describes how new technologies such as robotics, virtual reality and the Internet of Things are changing the way we live and work. The advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has left evident gaps in existing learning systems and jobs requirements.

With existing jobs becoming competitive and new jobs being created through technological innovations, millions of young people will be left behind if formal and informal educational systems fail to address these gaps.

Believers Care Society (BCS), in partnership with the Sustainable Livelihood and poverty alleviation unit of the Gauteng Department of Social Development Johannesburg region, is working together to introduce ICT/Digitalised training opportunities for the unemployed and unskilled youth to ensure that they are ready and prepared to access jobs and other economic opportunities that the 4th Industrial revolution introduces.

Young people are invited to register now for a Mobile Engineering training course, a six-months IT course that focuses on hardware, software, networking, cloud concept, data storage and systems security for both personal computers and mobile devices. Other devices supported include printers and laptops. This course is internationally accredited through ComPtia. Learners will be required to write two international exams before they are declared competent. Registration is currently in progress and learners attend Monday to Thursday from 9am to 1pm. Classes resume on May 27.

Other enrolling courses include: Introduction to Programming and Multimedia Webdesign, three months duration, starting on July 1. IT Technical support (PC Engineering course) is a 12 months course attending Monday to Thursday from 9am to 1pm, started, with acceptance of new learners ending May 20.

No fees are required, only unemployed and unskilled youth are accepted.

Requirements include: copy of ID, proof of residence, previous qualification and a short CV, all certified. Classes are Monday to Thursday, five hours per day.
