Sir John Adamson High School donates to the SPCA

The learners have shown humility, kindness and love for animals. They also call on the community to initiate and participate in such charity drives.

LEARNERS and educators of Sir John Adamson High School organised a charity drive to collect pet food, pet toys and money for the Johannesburg SPCA recently.

The Johannesburg SPCA is all about keeping animals healthy and safe while giving them a second chance by trying to find a home for them.

Recently it underwent budget cuts, which have resulted in the charity being understaffed and in need of supplies for the animals.

Collecting donations required a lot of time and effort, but the learners stepped up to the task. In the end, it was most rewarding.

Seeing the animals eat the food and watching them play with the toys was heart-warming.

During their visit to the Johannesburg SPCA the learners were taught about the importance of animal sterilisation, the pet adoption process and all the hard work the Johannesburg SPCA workers put in daily in order for the organisation to succeed.

The SJA Interact Community Outreach team would like to commend the selfless employees of the Johannesburg SPCA.

The school is proud of its learners, who have shown humility, kindness and love for animals.
