South Hills community help victims of house fire

They were struggling to pick up the pieces, but with the help of disaster management, the community, church members and Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame they were able to pull through.

THE Xaba family in Ladybrand Street, South Hills, lost everything when their home was gutted by fire, caused by faulty wiring, on April 23.

The family sends their gratitude to everyone who supported them in their time of need and distress.

They were struggling to pick up the pieces, but with the help of disaster management, the community, church members and Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame they were able to pull through.

Solomon Xaba said he really appreciates the assistance offered to him and his family during that difficult time.

“We had to start from scratch and had to buy new furniture and repaint our house. But in that process we weren’t alone. We received support from various people and we are thankful for that,” said Xaba.

Solomon Xaba says he’s blessed to have people who are supportive of him.
