SOUTH Rand Hospital celebrated Heritage Day in fine style on September 25, when all guests dressed in their traditional wear to commemorate the day.
Performers had the audience glued to their seats and cheering for every performance.
The staff also cooked different kinds of meals according to their cultures.
Eight cultural groups were represented on the day, namely Xhosa, Afrikaner, Venda, Swati, Sotho, Sepedi, Zulu and Tsonga.
Each group took to the stage to treat the audience to a song complemented by a dance routine.

Some of the audience members wept as the performances connected them with their traditions.
Sinqlo Mnothoza, a staff member, said it’s important for South Africans to celebrate their heritage because it brings us together.
South Rand Hospital spokesperson Phafudi Molapo told the COURIER that celebrating heritage is something they value and honour.
“The day is about us celebrating and enjoying each other’s cultures. We always honour such days at the hospital and we hope it does not stop here,” said Molapo.
