WATCH: Busisiwe ready to take on the Face of SPAR Race Challenge

The 22-year-old from Ormonde, who aspires to live a healthy lifestyle, continues to participate in challenges which build one’s health.

BECOMING a finance consultant is the ultimate goal for Busisiwe Nobela, but for now her eyes are fixed on winning SPAR Face of Race as part of the SPAR Woman’s Challenge.

The 22-year-old from Ormonde, who aspires to live a healthy lifestyle, continues to participate in challenges which build one’s health.

Not so long ago her desire of losing weight and avoiding any chance of being overweight reached a positive turn.

She entered SPAR Face of Race which was advertised in Get It Joburg South.

“I saw this as an opportunity to keep my weight down and stay in shape because as young people we need to take care of our bodies at all times. The challenge helps one to keep her body healthy,” said Busisiwe.

SPAR Face of Race

She said after seeing the advert, which specifically needed girls who would be the face of the SPAR Race Challenge, she submitted two pictures of herself and a motivational letter stating why she should be chosen and lady luck was on her side.

According to Busisiwe she also has to promote the race on social media platforms and spread awareness.

She told the COURIER she didn’t think she might be chosen but after getting a call informing her she won she was over the moon.

Parents involvement

Busisiwe’s parents have been rooting for her since she entered the race. She said her mother helps her promote the race and also helps with editing her videos.

“Even my siblings have been supporting me throughout and I honestly respect their support. My parents are the most awesome individuals. Without their support I would have been nothing,” said Busisiwe.

She considers herself as people’s person.

Ready or not?

The race takes place on October 6, and she is ready for it.

“This challenge is not about winning but meeting new people and creating awareness about woman abuse.”

She’s also focusing on her BComm Finance studies at Wits University.
