Grant ‘DJ Grant’ Marshall has one aim and that is to put his name among the elite of the elite in the industry.
The 27-year-old from Naturena has, since his childhood, aspired to be a producer, DJ and entertainer.
According to him, he has achieved much but still needs recognition.
As a producer, he has produced two singles since breaking into the industry in 2006.
The first single DJ Grant released was This Love and his second and latest single, Abafana ba mapiano (Boys of pianos).
Speaking to the COURIER he said he has shared the stage with so many household DJs namely DJ Kent, Black Coffee, and Kapela to name a few.
“I love doing what I do because it makes me feel happy and closer to people. Music is everything to me. Seeing people dancing to my music puts a smile on my face and nothing else can replace it,” said DJ Grant.
Family Support
He said having a family allowed him to grow in music because they are always behind him.
“My parents and siblings are always pushing me to strive for excellence. I appreciate the love my family has for me because without them I could’ve been a nobody,” said DJ Grant.
How does he make money?
He generates money from the gigs he gets in and around Naturena like pubs, taverns, clubs, conferences, and concerts.
He also desires to fill up a stadium one day like other South African musicians he admires.
“I believe one day I will fill up a stadium because at the pace I’m going it is bound to happen.
To upcoming and aspiring musicians, DJs and producers, stay true to your craft,” said DJ Grant.
