Community unity to fight xenophobia with prayer

THE Esther Generation and Higher Calling Ministry hosted a prayer sermon in a fight against xenophobia on October 27 at Diversity High School in South Hills.

Pastors and congregants from different churches came to support the sermon and to seek the Lord’s intervention.

Pastor Jacky Greeff opened the sermon with a prayer which was followed by praise and worship songs.

The people who attended kept on praying and all the pastors were given an opportunity to share the Word of God.

Also attending was councillor Faeeza Chame who spoke about how important it is to bring the community together in such times because people have wasted their lives on drugs and criminal activities.

Pastor Greeff said to the COURIER she is happy the event was a success and the turnout was amazing.

“We invited the SAPS, pastors, community members and different denominations. We are all the same so there’s no need for us to fight one another,” said Greeff.
