Church helps the underprivileged with food

The church aims to assist less privileged people from southern areas with food parcels, clothes and other necessities. Giving vegetables to the elderly is one of their campaigns.

THE Power of God International Ministries reached out to the elderly by donating vegetables on November 1 in Lawley.

The church aims to assist less privileged people from southern areas with food parcels, clothes, and other necessities. Giving vegetables to the elderly is one of their campaigns.

With unemployment rates so high, the church strives to feed more than 100 people a day, whether young or old. But to achieve this, they need other role players to partner with them to give back to the poor.

Other outreach programmes the church does include giving piano lessons, as well as talks to young people.

Patty Duba, one of the elders who were given vegetables, said she was happy to see that there were people out there who were still concerned about the wellness of the less privileged.

“I’m happy to receive this food parcel. I’m excited and thrilled because I had no food, but today I have something to eat,” said Duba.
