Hamlet Foundation enjoys Christmas party
Mentally challenged people are thrown a party.
SUE Lubbe, a health and human rights activist, hosted a Christmas party for the mentally challenged at Hamlet Foundation in Regents Park on November 30.
Every guest was dressed in red and white and were spoilt with good food and a variety of entertainment, from dancing and music to inspirational talks.
The purpose of this Christmas party was to show mentally challenged people that there are people who think about them.
On the day, Sue honoured Alaan Bava with a trophy which was handed over by Zia Bava, his brother.
This trophy is awarded to an individual who worked hard in helping Sue and friends with their charity group for the past two years.

“Alaan worked with us during the events and no matter how menial some jobs were, he did it without complaining. From sorting out cakes to feeding the seniors cake and tea, nothing was too much hassle for him.
“He worked on so many projects with us, like the Woman’s Day function, cake and tea functions and book handouts,” said Sue.
People enjoyed themselves at the party as some took selfies to keep as a memory.
“A special thanks to advocate Aslam Bava who took the time after a very busy schedule to join us at the party.
“Also, the helpers who cooked a beautiful meal and the lovely snacks provided by Hamlet,” said Sue.
