One of Joburg’s most wanted house robbery gangs arrested on Swartkoppies Road

Three of the four suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

LPR Technology and teamwork arrested one of Joburg’s most wanted house robbery gangs on Swartkoppies Road this Tuesday afternoon, October 20.

According to Mike Fontes, Mondeor CPF Chairperson, one of Johannesburg’s most active house robbery gangs suspected of robbery and breaking into houses in Fairlands and Mulbarton, entered the South this afternoon and their vehicle picked up by Vumacameras.

The response group received the alert and a search for the suspects’ vehicle, a white Audi Q5 was mounted. The vehicle was found by CPF members on Eves Street, Mulbarton where the four occupants of the vehicle were in the process of breaking into.

Fox Security and Mondeor SAPS were quick to offer backup and a shootout occurred as they were leaving Eves Road.

“The suspects vehicle was pursued by SAPS, CPF and Fox Security onto Kliprivier Drive and then Swartkoppies Road where the suspects lost control of their vehicle and tried to make a run for it but all four were apprehended by the response group,” said Mike.

The suspects were caught in recent possession of items stolen moments earlier from the home on Eves Road.

Investigators are linking these suspects to other house robberies on Fairlands and Murton Road in Mulbarton.

Three of the four suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were being treated by paramedics at the scene.

“We congratulate the team involved.

“Another LPR success – our cameras never sleep neither do our responders, ” said Mike Fontes.
