People are hungry regardless of lockdown
Feed Station Organisation SA will go to more orphanages once the lockdown restrictions are eased.
Due to lockdown restrictions and looting, Feed Station Organisation SA was unable to host the Nelson Mandela Orphans Fun Day.
However, with the help of their sponsors and the donations they received, they still managed to go out to the children’s homes to give them sweet packs, toilet paper, bottled water, socks and a home-cooked meal.
Vinesh Moonsamy from Feed Station Organisation SA said they plan on going again to each home once lockdown restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so. They would also like to thank their sponsors who made it all possible.
“During this lockdown, we had no choice but to dress safely with all the necessary precautions to go feed the people in need as people still need to eat and need our help, whether it is lockdown or not. We managed to feed people each week during the entire lockdown period, making sure our food and love were felt.

“We would also like to thank Uncle Baboo and Crew for their help and welcoming love to the community during the lockdown period, we would like to thank councillor Rashieda Landis for the help and great work in the community as well and Vanessa and Selvan Moonsamy who helped every week without fail.
A special thank you to My Lillies of Hope for a successful event in the children’s home, Feed Station wishes everyone success in their future endeavours.
“We beg and ask Johannesburg South councillors, community members and leaders to come out and help us finally clean up Wembley Stadium informal settlement so they too can move on with their lives and make something of it while they still have the time.

“I urge 124 ward councillors to please meet with us as we can only do so much. The people are crying and asking us every week when they going to finally be free from this informal settlement as some have been there from xenophobia times and the Booysens informal settlement burning times.
Please contact us to help people.
“We need to solve this before more people die and more children get hurt,” explained Vinesh.
Other places they went to include Christway Centre in Turffontein, Look Forward Creativity Centre in South Hills and Tarbiyatul Aytaam Foundation in Robertsham.
