Marist Brothers Linmeyer hosts 40 tertiary institutions for career day

The purpose was to inform learners about the different types of careers they can pursue.

Forty institutions that are part of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) joined Marist Brothers Linmeyer for their career day on March 11.

The purpose was to inform learners about the different careers they can pursue.

Marist Brothers Linmeyer principal Regan Nicholas said the importance of career day is that it gives direction to youngsters to help them make substantial choices.

“It helps them to see how much is out there and being informed about standard careers that we had many years ago,” said Nicholas.

BESA, Grace Trinity for Girls, Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic School and Hoërskool President High School joined the school on the day.

A learner from Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic School, Tshegofatso Khatle, said she gained more knowledge about the career she will pursue.

Zoe Raynard, a learner from Marist Brothers, said she is thankful to the University of Witwatersrand representatives for sharing important information with her, as she would like to enrol with them.
