15 years in prison for Tsidiso Kopanye

Alberton SAPS released a press statement of Tsidiso Kopanye's conviction.

Tsidiso Kopanye allegedly robbed and kidnapped three men who were driving a company vehicle.

According to the statement, the Ford Transit was loaded with cargo to deliver at a house on Lethemba Street, Phomola, on June 12, 2019.

When the vehicle stopped to offload one of the assistants to get an identity copy, three armed men approached the vehicle.

Firearms were pointed at the employees and they were ordered to get into the back of the vehicle by two suspects, while the third took control of the vehicle.

Regarding the statement, the panic button was asked for before they drove off.

The suspects stopped at another house, where there was a stationary vehicle, and offloaded 27 parcels from their vehicle to the stationary vehicle.

The victims said they did not know what was in those parcels.

As per Alberton SAPS, a case was logged and was handled by Sgt Mbuso Gabriel Mbele.

The statement states on November 12, 2019, an identification parade was conducted and Tsidiso was positively linked to this case and was charged.

He was sentenced to 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances and two years for kidnapping.
