Daniel Rowland, who stood accused of firing a shot in a restaurant last year in July, appeared in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on June 24.
The magistrate heard that the investigating officers are still waiting for the ballistic tests to be done on the firearm found on the suspect that evening.
It was at that moment that the magistrate issued a warrant for the head of the ballistics lab in Pretoria to either speed up the process or to appear in court to explain why the ballistics is still outstanding since it was requested by the investigating officer in January already.
The defence asked where the bullet casings were and at one stage insinuated that the investigating officer doesn’t know the case.
With the warrant being issued the case was postponed to June 29.
On June 29 the magistrate was sick and called a postponement in the matter.
The case was postponed to July 15 when the handover will occur for the case to go ahead.
