The Sling farewell breakfast attracts lots of aviation fans
The trip to the USA will officially start on July 10 from Lanseria Airport with various stops on the way.
The Sling Aircraft factory had a farewell breakfast on July 3 at Tedderfield Air Park for the three aircraft that will depart to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Airventure in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The long journey of 8 609 nautical miles will start from Lanseria Airport on July 10.
Three of the new high-wing Sling Aircraft will take a flight across the Atlantic, while one of the planes piloted by JP Schulze known as ‘The Candourist’ will continue with help of a friend to fly around the world.
Linda Sollars, an airline pilot from the USA has been at the factory for the last few months building her plane after receiving it in kit form.
Sollars will be accompanied by Mike Blyth who has previously done the trip in other Slings.
James Pitman and his friend Matt Cohen will be flying the third plane that will also be displayed at Airventure 2022.
Many fans of the company came out for the breakfast.
They also had the opportunity to meet the pilots of the three planes as well as see what the factory does at its facilities.
The flight can be tracked via satellite tracking on IndigoSat.
