Cobras Shotokal Club celebrates women through karate

Following Women's Month, the Cobras Shotokal Club celebrate the diversity of women through karate.

The Alberton’s Cobras Shotokan Karate Club recently felt honoured to recognise and applaud every female karateka in the club.

The club boasts a high proportion of female members, and the ladies that make up the club are all achievers.

According to sensei Nicholas Gaston-Bellegarde, with the commitment and effort, the ladies put into their karate, they believe they serve as an example for all women.

“Some of these ladies are assistant instructors of the club, while others have achieved local, national and international success at all the karate tournaments they took part in. We are extremely proud of all our female karateka and encourage all ladies out there who have not yet tried out karate for themselves, to attend one of our lessons and see all these ladies in action,” said Nicholas.

The Cobras Shotokan Karate Club practises on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 17:30 to 18:30 at Ascot Mews Conference and Wedding Venue (19 Heidelberg Road, New Market Alberton).
