Man arrested for impersonating a police officer

One of four suspects arrested.

A suspect who impersonated a police officer was recently arrested at a shopping centre in Brackenhurst.

“Four suspects, impersonating police officers attempted to defraud a victim of a substantial amount of money,” said Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director of CPS Security.

“Our security officers guarding the centre were alerted to the incident and managed to apprehend one of the four suspects.”

The other suspects fled the scene.

Brackendowns SAPS were contacted and a case was opened.

“Well done to our security officer for apprehending the suspect.”
