Two stolen white Toyota Fortuner’s recovered

Police appreciate working relationship with the community to curb crime.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested seven suspects for different crimes in Johannesburg and recovered three vehicles and one unlicensed firearm from October 14 to 17.

Among the suspects arrested, three were for possession of suspected stolen vehicles, one for robbery, one for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and two suspects for possession of drugs.

Vehicles recovered were two White Toyota Fortuners and a Grey Chery that were stolen and all handed in at Aeroton SAP 13.

One 6.35mm Baby Brown pistol with the number filed off was recovered and booked at Cleveland SAPS. The SAPS members are determined to ensure the safety of their communities by eradicating illegal firearms.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer Raymond Sambo said investigations continue in all cases, and working together with the community led to these recoveries.

“The SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, one may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“|The suspects appeared in different magistrate’s courts, facing charges of possession of a suspected stolen vehicle, robbery, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of drugs,” he said.
