Alberton SPCA receives donation worth R41 393.60
The national chairman of Portuguese Forum Manny Ferreirinha officially handed over the R41 393.60 cheque to the Alberton SPCA.
Alberton SCPA was blown away when they received R41 393.60, which was raised through the Madeira Fest.
The Alberton SPCA relies on these donations to care for the animals in its care and to keep on working for justice for all animals in the Alberton region.
According to Alberton’s SPCA manager Chairmain Southon, it was only this week that the Alberton SPCA received a report that a neighbour had been physically abusing his dog. However, without proof of this horrible act, it is difficult to file a charge under the Animals Protection Act, No. 71 of 1962.
“Upon arrival, we immediately noticed a beautiful young dog who appeared to have an extensive head wound and we knew that there was no possible way that the owner could deny this. The owner agreed to sign the animal over to the SPCA.

“When Milo was loaded into the SPCA vehicle I spoke to him and he wagged his tail. He truly has a fighting spirit and these donations will ensure that we seek justice for Milo,” said Chairmain.
The national chairperson for the Portuguese Forum, Manny Ferreirinha, said that the reason they chose the Alberton SPCA is that they saw the need of the society.
“It is absolutely our greatest pleasure to hand over this cheque to this animal organisation as we know that they will use the funds for appropriate and well-deserved reasons. Thank you,” said Manny.
The SPCA urges everyone to report instances of cruelty to the SPCA because, without them, they are unable to bring these sentient beings to justice.
