Men arrested for house robbery in Raceview

After being spotted running in the early hours of the morning, CPS Security managed to detain a house break in suspect and linked him to another attempted robbery matter.

Alberton CPS Security arrested a suspect for house robbery in Hesperus Street, Raceview, on December 8.

According to Tyrone van der Merwe of CPS Security, an unknown man was spotted acting suspiciously early hours of the morning. The man tried to hide in a flower bed of a local resident when the K9 unit approached.

“The man was removed from the flower bed and questioned. It was established that he had just got into a fight with a resident in Rhanleigh Street after the resident saw him inside his home busy stealing items,” said van der Merwe.

It was found that the alleged suspect also attempted to break into a Petersfield Road home a few hours earlier. This was established by obtaining CCTV footage.

The Alberton SAPS were contacted after the discovery of all the stolen goods.
