15 years for damaging City Power’s infrastructure

Both sentences will run concurrently.

Magistrate Matshitse, sitting in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court, sentenced Jody Erasmus (32) to 15 years in prison on October 22.

The accused pleaded guilty on both counts of tampering, damaging or destroying essential infrastructure or colluding and assisting another person to do so.

On September 2 last year in South Hills Erasmus tampered and damaged an electric pole belonging to City Power.

He was sentenced to 15 years each on both counts and these sentences will run concurrently.
