One dead, another injured in South Hills

Motive of the murder is still unknown.

Moffat View SAPS are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after a fatal shooting in South Hills on March 30.

Two males were shot on Quantock Street on the corner of Ochill Road. The police report stated that one was shot dead and the other with a gunshot wound to the head was taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.

“The complainant was on duty and while patrolling the area, he received a complaint of shooting at the above-mentioned address. On his arrival at the scene, he noticed two coloured males lying on the ground facing down and covered with blood all over their faces. The deceased sustained several gun shots wounds to his face.

“The other victim, an unknown coloured male, was rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for medical treatment. The deceased was wearing a black top and black pants with white Nike sneakers. Twelve cartridges and one live round were found on the scene. The motives of the murder are unknown, the suspects are unknown and there is no video footage. All role players attended the scene,” explained the statement.
