Mondeor pool hall murder case postponed for pretrial discussions to be held

The case will resume in August.

A 19-year-old is facing a murder charge after allegedly fatally stabbing another teenager (18) at Ballbreakers, a pool hall in Mondeor on April 5, 2025.

The case was heard at the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on July 2.

Magistrate Vele once again found the case delayed because the prosecution’s witnesses had not been finalised.

The defence and State eventually agreed on which witnesses should be called.

The case was then finalised for pretrial.

There are still safety concerns for the accused, and therefore, when the case was called, the accused was once again present virtually in court.

Mr Kruger told the court that he was prepared for a pretrial conference and ready to proceed when the state was ready.

The prosecuting attorney, Mr Pashadi, also agreed that the case should move forward but was not yet prepared for the pretrial conference.

Magistrate Vele then postponed the case to August 6 for the pretrial conference.
