Daniel Rowland, accused of murder following a 2021 shooting at Il Camino restaurant in Mulbarton, made his latest appearance at the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on August 21.

Magistrate Habib questioned whether the defence did everything they could to obtain the court transcripts, after they struggled to obtain transcripts of previous court appearances.

The matter was scheduled to proceed but was delayed when advocate Mayet arrived late to court.
The court stood the matter down to allow time for the attorney to arrive.

When proceedings resumed, Mr Mayet appeared on record and not Advocate Meiring.

Mayet told the court he had made correspondence requesting the outstanding transcripts.

Magistrate Habib questioned why the transcripts had not been received, noting that she had received transcripts for other cases.

Mayet assured the court that he had tried everything to secure the records and requested a two-week postponement to allow time to retrieve them.

The case was then postponed to September 4 for transcript retrieval.
