Booysens patrollers tackle crime

The declining of robberies are some of the positives achieved by the patrollers.

The leader of Booysens Street patrollers, Steven Ndlovu, prides himself on the amount of work that he and his team do.

They patrol the streets of Booysens to keep the community safe. Since they started they had some successes.

“We are patrolling at night and managed to decrease robbery on City Power infrastructure. We find different kinds of weapons including knives and toy guns.

Weapons confiscated during a night patrol.

“We are about 21 patrollers. However, lately, there are only four of us. People are not coming out the past two months because it is too cold,” he said.
