Uncle Baboo and Crew reach out to help the elderly
“A special thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors for helping us help bring much-needed relief to our seniors,” said Uncle Baboo.
It was another Saturday for Uncle Baboo and Crew on August 3.
The crew started at the crack of dawn, preparing two dhegs of mutton akhni for the senior citizens of the area.
They served the following homes: the Glenesk Old Age Home, the South Hills Retirement Village, the Northam Old Age Home, the Karina Old Age Home and the Moffat View Old Age Home.
Uncle Baboo said the crew also prepared tea hampers for the seniors. The seniors were extremely grateful because most survive off their SASSA grant money only, which does not meet their needs for an entire month.
“Your generous donations help often forgotten and neglected seniors. I encourage the community to go to these homes and see the poor conditions they must live in. A special thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors for helping us help bring much-needed relief to our seniors,” he said.
