Ward 56 Councillor Michael Crichton expressed frustration over the absence of water tanker trucks in the area.

“We’re disgusted that no water tanker was supplied today. Joburg Water’s feedback has been subpar. We have put forward a motion to compel the City of Johannesburg administration to work with the National Government in finding a permanent solution to the South Hills Water Tower crisis.”

According to Crichton, the motion is set to go before the programming committee, which determines the Council Agenda.

“We hope they will allow it to proceed to the Council Meeting,” he said.

Ward 57 Councillor Faeeza Chame said Joburg Water receives their messages but ignores them without providing feedback.

“We’ve been speaking with the mayor and Joburg Water representatives, but they’ve continued to ignore us. They don’t realise this neglect could lead to serious consequences, including illness in our community,” she said.
