Linmeyer and The Hill residents: Two weeks without water

Residents of Ward 56 had to endure two weeks without water - repairs underway

After two weeks without water, Joburg Water (JW) began repairing pipes to restore the water supply to Linmeyer and The Hill.

Ward 56 Clr Michael Crichton provided feedback on the water crisis.

“The pipes keep cracking even though they are supposed to withstand 16 bars of pressure. JW is working on it,” he said.

“Following my site meeting with JW in Linmeyer, they promised to thoroughly investigate on May 29 on why certain streets in The Hill had little to no water supply for two weeks.”

“Regarding the water issues in parts of Linmeyer, JW has indicated that they remain concerned about the area,” he added.

JW has been fixing the pipes for about a week now, and some residents already have access to water.

Crichton has started a water petition for the residents of Ward 56 to make their voices heard.
