Youth leaders bring hope and warmth to Rosettenville on Youth Day

On Youth Day, young leaders from Miss Turffontein and Miss La Rochelle joined the Southern Development Projects Team to deliver clothing and compassion to Rosettenville residents in need.

In a display of youth leadership and compassion, the Southern Development Projects Team, joined by crowned ambassadors from Miss Turffontein and Miss La Rochelle, brought smiles and support to residents of a Rosettenville informal settlement on Youth Day.

With bags of donated clothes, the team connected with community members in need, offering support and emotional encouragement.

The outreach event served not only as a gesture of goodwill but as a tribute to the significance of Youth Day, a time to reflect on the power of young people to make meaningful change.

Among the titleholders participating in the initiative were Miss Turffontein Queen Melov Munya Nkele, Miss Teen Turffontein Queen Miradi Lumbayi and Miss La Rochelle Queen Lubelihle Ndlovu.

Other notable participants included Miss Pre-Teen Turffontein’s first princess, Sifundo Mchunu, Miss Tiny Turffontein’s first and second princesses, Belia Bebel and Roisa Mukendi, Miss Tiny Turffontein Elizabeth Mkwanazi and Miss Turffontein Personality 2024 Noluthando Moyo.

Ambassador and second princess Carmel Ngoyi, and first princess Elvie Ntumba represented Miss La Rochelle, with Mr La Rochelle King Vuyiso and first prince Sakhe Lelethu.

The donated clothes are for the residents.

The Southern Development Projects Team expressed appreciation for the young participants’ involvement.

“The presence and involvement of these young leaders set an inspiring example for their peers,” said a team spokesperson.

“We are thankful to them for using their platforms to serve the community with humility and heart.”

The outreach effort not only met immediate needs but also instilled a spirit of unity and hope. It highlighted how youth leadership and influence, when guided by compassion, can uplift entire communities.

The day closed with smiles, gratitude, and a renewed reminder that the future of SA is in good hands, led by a generation that chooses service over the spotlight.
