Roots and Rhymes: Mondeor Primary beats to rhythm of heritage

Get ready for a full day of celebration filled with song, dance, crafts and culture.

Mondeor Primary School will host a heritage celebration, bringing together the community under the banner Roots and Rhymes: Celebrating our heritage, one beat at a time, from 10:00 to 18:00 on November 1.

The event will take place on the school’s sports fields and promises to be a lively day filled with music, dance, food and culture.

The celebration aims to honour SA’s rich and diverse heritage by blending the traditional with the modern.

Visitors can expect a range of stalls and activities. The traditional craft market will have local artisans selling handmade crafts, jewellery, and clothing, and the food festival will tempt taste buds with authentic SA favourites, such as braai, bunny chow, and malva pudding.

The heritage exhibition will display artefacts and stories about SA’s history and culture, and the community showcase will give local groups a platform to present their talents.

With its mix of tradition and togetherness, Roots and Rhymes promises an unforgettable day. Mondeor Primary School invites the community to join and celebrate SA’s heritage.
