To commemorate World Aids Day, Bellavista Clinic hosted a community event aimed at uniting residents in the fight against HIV/Aids and showing support for those living with the condition.

The clinic, together with its stakeholders and local community leaders, reaffirmed its commitment to raising awareness and promoting accessible healthcare.

“It’s important for us to raise awareness and host an open day where we inform the community about the services we offer. It’s also about helping the community understand that we are a point of referral and that we can assist with their various health needs,” he said.

The event also highlighted GBV awareness, aligning with the ongoing 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign. Stakeholders from various sectors attended and offered their support, contributing to the overall success of the day.

Ward 55 Councillor Rashieda Landis expressed her gratitude: “On behalf of Bellavista Clinic and myself, we would like to thank all the stakeholders, as well as Pick n Pay Southdale, who generously served delicious snacks and fruit to the community.”

The event underscored the powerful impact that united voices and collaborative efforts can have in raising awareness and driving positive change within communities facing pressing social challenges.

Khumalo added: “We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future, and we want the community to remember that our services are not limited to residents of this area only. Everyone is welcome to seek assistance at Bellavista Clinic.”
