WATCH: Suspected criminals allegedly gain access to elderly woman’s home through crumbling ceiling

75-year-old Margret Lilly Fillis, who survives on an old-age pension, says her groceries get stolen regularly by suspected criminals. She is appealing for roof and ceiling repair assistance.

An elderly woman from Eden Park is a constant victim of suspected criminals who are gaining access to her home through a crumbling ceiling.

Margret Lilly Fillis (75) fears criminals could attack her.

“They come in whether I lock or not and take things. So I can’t even leave the house,” Margret told the Alberton Record.

Margret also told this publication that she lives alone and fears that criminals could one day enter while she is inside and do whatever they want to her, or worse, kill her.

The senior citizen is appealing for people to assist her with roof and ceiling repairs.

The crumbling ceiling in her bedroom is being held up by a chair, a small bedroom table, and a broom to ensure it doesn’t collapse on her. Much of the ceiling in her home has fallen off, making it easy for anyone to gain access to Margret’s home through the roof.

Suspected criminals are thought to be accessing the house through the ceiling.

The 75-year-old gets assistance from a close friend who lives nearby. Margret resorted to keeping her groceries at her friend’s house due to the rampant theft.
