Jet Ubunye and Hot Cares bring smiles to St Mary’s Children at Sandton City

The children from St Mary’s Children Home enjoyed a day that marked a hopeful start to the new school year.

Jet Ubunye and Hot Cares have once again come together to support children in need, this time by hosting a joyful back-to-school shopping day for children from St Mary’s Children’s Home.

Fifty children were taken to Sandton City Mall, where they enjoyed a safe and well-organised shopping spree at Jet.

Each child could choose their own school clothes, casual outfits, and items to decorate their rooms. The day ended with a shared lunch at McDonald’s, filled with excitement for the new school year.

The aim of the day was not only to provide new clothing but also to give the children confidence and a sense of pride as they prepare for the new school year.

A representative from Jet Ubunye shared: “At Jet, we believe every child deserves to feel confident and ready for school. Allowing the children to choose their own items gives them dignity and reminds them they matter.”

Hot Cares also shared their thoughts on the initiative. “This is about more than shopping. It is about showing kindness and giving these children a positive memory they will carry with them into the school year,” said a Hot Cares representative.
