Ward 124 residents urged to attend community meeting
The meeting at Forest High School will introduce councillor candidates and give residents an opportunity to participate in the selection process.
The ANC Bertha Gxowa Branch invites all community members of Ward 124 to attend a community meeting to present and introduce councillor candidates in line with the 2026 Local Government Elections ANC Councillor Candidate Selection Guidelines (Version 11 of 8 November 2025).
The meeting will be at Forest High School on June 6 from 11:00.
This important process is intended to provide community members with an opportunity to participate in identifying and supporting their preferred councillor candidate, someone they believe will best represent the community’s interests and aspirations.
All residents from the following Voting Districts (VDs) and surrounding areas are encouraged to participate, as these processes will directly impact their lives and communities.
• City Hall VD: Marshalltown, Gandhi Square, Inner City and Bank City;
• Selby VD: Eloff Extension, Faraday Extension, Selby Village, Ophirton, Ferreiradorp and Fordsburg;
• Pioneer Hall VD: Glenesk, Wembley Informal Settlement, Booysens Camp and Turffontein Racecourse;
• Southern Suburbs Bowling Club VD: Kenilworth and Turffontein;
• Forest High VD: Kenilworth, Turffontein, Forest Hill and Towerby;
• City Power VD: Ophirton, City Power Industrial and View Extension;
• Reuven Senior Citizen VD: West Turffontein, Reuven and Booysens.
Community members are encouraged to attend in large numbers to ensure that their voices are heard.
