Racing’s best honoured in Turffontein as 4Racing celebrated standout performers

A cosmopolitan and competitive 2025/26 horse racing season came to a close with a celebration.

The South African racing fraternity gathered at Turffontein Racecourse on May 16 for the 2026 Highveld Feature Season Awards, recognising standout equine and human performers of the 2025/26 Highveld Feature Race season.

After a fiercely contested campaign, Tin Pan Alley took home the prestigious horse of the season title for a campaign marked by consistency, stamina, and top-tier performances.

4Racing CEO Patrick Duff said the season delivered memorable moments and reinforced Turffontein’s reputation as a proving ground for the country’s best.

“We’ve had a remarkable year filled with unforgettable moments,” Duff said. “The quality and depth of visiting horses and connections were phenomenal. Yes, the raiders may have stolen a bit of our silverware along the way, but it created a truly cosmopolitan and competitive season.

“At 4Racing, we remain deeply committed to the continued upliftment and growth of this industry. We are here to support racing in every way we can, because we genuinely care about its future and the people within it. Thank you to everyone who contributed this season, and congratulations to all our nominees and award winners.”
