Mall of the South launches ‘Share the Warmth’ drive

Winter warmth is the goal as Mall of the South partners with SOJO Business and Tourism and the EPIC Foundation to collect 6 700 blankets for vulnerable communities this season.

Mall of the South’s campaign titled ‘Support the South – Drop off and donate, share the warmth’ is calling on shoppers and residents across the South to donate new or gently used blankets.

Donation boxes have been placed inside the mall and community members are urged to drop off blankets before July 18 to ensure distributions can be coordinated before the coldest weeks of winter hit.

Mall of the South is working alongside SOJO, which promotes economic and social development in the south of Johannesburg, and the EPIC Foundation, which supports community relief projects.

Organisers say the 6 700-blanket target will help meet urgent demand from families and shelters facing winter shortages in the area.
