Tiaras and Tuxedos finalists take another step towards grand finale
Nine finalists celebrated a major milestone at the academy's sash ceremony and development workshop as they prepare for the grand finale at Alberton Civic Centre.
Tiaras and Tuxedos Academy celebrated its 2026 Finalist Sash Ceremony and Development Workshop on September 5 in Johannesburg South.
The ceremony celebrated nine finalists who have successfully progressed through the competition and received their official finalist sashes.
The occasion recognised their hard work and dedication as they continue their journey towards the academy’s first grand finale.
The 2026 finalists are Celine January, Destiny Akpo, Elvine Kadima, Kamohelo Lenela, Heavenly Obidike, Noluthando Moyo, Shantel Maulana, Taytum Lessing and Thandeka Shabalala.
Development workshop supports growth
Alongside the sash ceremony, the finalists took part in a development workshop designed to support their personal growth and prepare them for the next stage of the competition.
Special guest speakers Cynthia Bebel and Sandra Zezere shared valuable insights and encouraged the finalists to continue developing their confidence and their sense of purpose.

The event was supported by a dedicated team, including MCs Elvie, Niclette and Francheska, event team members Jeffrey, Obi and Divine, photographer Bill from Anonymous Portraits and directors Lablonde and Carmel.
Parents and guests also attended to celebrate the finalists and their achievements.
Grand finale set for November
With the sash ceremony now complete, attention turns to the Tiaras and Tuxedos grand finale, which will take place on November 7 at the Alberton Civic Centre’s new council chamber.
The finale will see the finalists take to the stage as they showcase their talent, with the first titleholders of Tiaras and Tuxedos set to be crowned.
Pre-sale tickets are available at R200 per person.
Tiaras and Tuxedos Academy is also inviting sponsors and partners to support the grand finale or individual contestants.
