“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.” – Bob Marley
Make sure you don’t see yourself through the eyes of those who don’t value you. Knowing your worth is the best thing that will lead you to freedom and peace of mind. It will help you attract those people who will willingly join hands with you in living a life of purpose. Never be sad if someone doesn’t recognise your worth, it’s their loss, not yours.
I have learnt that once you discover your self-worth, walking away from where you are not valued becomes the easiest thing to do. This also means that knowing your self-worth helps you avoid forcing yourself on people and situations that do not value you. It’s better to be hated for being true to yourself than to be loved for being a copy of someone else.
The greatest tragedy in life is dying without ever having lived. Knowing your self-worth helps you find your purpose, which leads to living a meaningful life. When you know your self-worth, you never play the victim because you know what’s good for you. When you know your self-worth, you don’t live your life seeking relief. Victims are people who always see life as unfair, cruel and unbearable hence are always seeking relief and will throw themselves at anyone as long as they can help them get into a state of temporary forgetfulness from the pains of the unbearable world.
Knowing your self-worth makes you take full responsibility for your life because you know what you want and what’s good for you.
May you be blessed with this kind of wisdom to know your self-worth. The world is a better place because you were born, shine your light.
