They are a group of five ladies that celebrated birthdays in that month and normally spend it having fun each putting in R1 000 and doing different things each year.
This year we were going to get the R5 000 value of shoes – when I sent her the list of the feeding scheme children, that would not have been sufficient, so they all got their friends to put in extra so that they went and bought 100 pairs of shoes.
Also Cathy Billings is one of the Sue Lubbe and Friends trustees and she put in R1 000 to buy some shoes too – we managed to donate 110 pairs to Suidheuwels Primary on July 18 celebrating Madiba’s birthday and 67 years of charity work.
