“It was bound to happen, however the scrap metal dealers are also to blame as they buy these types of goods without asking questions. In so doing they are fuelling this cable theft. Serious consideration should be made to establish a scrap metal clearance unit, where a clearance is given to proceed with the sale of any form of cable or metal. Johannesburg has become a haven for metal thieves and nothing is being done to get it under control.” – Victor
