AMERICAN professional Cheyenne Woods, the niece of Tiger Woods, will make her first appearance in the Gary Player Invitational presented by Coca-Cola at Sun City next month, joining Grand Slam champion Gary Player and other notable golfers, celebrities, sports stars and business leaders in the charity tournament.
Woods has confirmed her place in the tournament at The Lost City Golf Course from November 16 to 17, and which is aimed at raising funds for the Wildlands Conservation Trust in partnership with Qhubeka and Wings and Wishes.
The young star of women’s professional golf first started taking the game seriously at the age of six. After a successful amateur career in which she won over 30 tournaments, Woods turned professional in 2012. She broke through with her first professional victory on the Suncoast Ladies Series that same year.
Woods is currently in her debut season on the Ladies European Tour, and has a top finish of tied for twelve in the Lalla Meryem Cup. She is also through to Stage 3 of the LPGA Tour Qualifying School as she attempts to gain her playing privileges there.
Woods joins Retief Goosen as some of the biggest names to have confirmed their place in the tournament.
